How to Prepare for Both Board Exams & NEET 2022 Simultaneously?

Remain focused and maintain a positive attitude while studying.
The dates for CBSE, other state board and NEET exams for undergraduate students (Entrance exam MBBS, BAMS, BSMS, BHSMS admission) are being announced. Students are worried as they have to prepare for both the exams simultaneously, creating pressure in their minds. We have put forth some expert views, in order to avoid exam stress and the associated affects.

Students are aware that it is important to strike a balance between Board exams and other entrance exams.

It is not easy for students to juggle between board examinations and competitive tests, since the pattern of both the exams differ in all aspects.

They should also know, that performance in any competitive exam is a relative measure and not an absolute rank. Hence, it requires proper planning and schedule to prepare and crack both these exams.

  1. Syllabus and Books:It is very important for students to know the syllabus of Boards as well the NEET. NEET and Boards will follow NCERT syllabus, so students are required to go through each chapter in all the three subjects. This will be the starting point for preparation and subsequently they must solve previous exam question papers.
  2. Self-Written Notes:One should take short notes on each concept and it will really help for revision before the exam day. It also aids in recalling information. While taking notes, students must highlight the points that are considered important. Highlighting will save time while revising at the last moment.
  3. Revision is Critical:A well-thought-out revision strategy improves conceptual and course clarity. It also helps students to know their preparation level. Students must adhere to a planned schedule, monitor the progress and take corrective actions.
  4. Check Your Weakness And Strengthen Your Strong Concepts: Students must know their weaknesses in order to improve performance. Also, check your understanding about important chapters and plan how to improve in those areas.
  5. Regular Practice: Taking regular mock tests will help in the identification of the weak areas. This will also help understand your weaknesses and unknown areas, and know the time spent on each question. Test Analysis and doubt clarification from your teachers are critical for improving your score.
  6. Accuracy and Speed: All exams, whether NEET or Board, are based on speed, with students having to complete all questions in a limited given time. Choosing correct answers to questions will not only help you finish your tests on time, but it will also give you enough time to revisit and check your answers/review any errors.

Apart from being fast, students should choose the correct or most appropriate answer to get full marks. Students should also remember that 1 Mark (25%) will be reduced for every wrong answer they choose.

Remember it is the quality of time spent for learning and not the quantity of time alone. Students should take sufficient break for every two hours and refresh themselves to avoid fatigue. Relax completely at the time of taking a break. This intermittent breaks really helps them concentrate and focus on remaining hours for preparation.
